Monthly Devlog #1: recreating the engine in Python!

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile since I've given an update, because I've mostly been researching, brainstorming, and planning. I met with some awesome members of the blind gaming community and spoken to accessibility advocates who gave me some much needed feedback, as well as experimented with some different solutions!

With that work done, here is the plan and status!

1. Everything that was already made, is being remade in Python. It will allow for far more customization in the long run and I can open source the code in the future! As well as be able to be ran on more platforms instead of just windows! As part of this rework, everything is getting put into a nice and clean proper UI. While this is going to take some time, the benefits can not be over stated. Assets will be able to be imported directly into the UI and there is no upper limit besides resources on how many sound files can be in a project.

2. Map editor is being completely replaced. A UI similar to excel will be baked into the engine where you can navigate from cell to cell and select what you want on each location by selecting from options (or typing in if you're doing a ton). The prototype of this is already working and I'm very happy with using it personally, and will be wanting testers for this soon.

3. The game itself is going to stay tile based, but will no longer ask for confirmation for every move. It's possible I will put this on as a toggle so complex puzzle games can still give warnings of what moving onto a tile will do, but movement will feel miles faster. Battle itself will feel very similar, with slight tweaks for optimization.

As before, everything will be blind accessible and is being tested with NVDA, but as I'm using an open source library it should work will all screen readers and invite feedback for any non functioning screen readers.

I plan to update monthly on the status, and will hopefully have more concrete updates in the next few months! If you want to speak to me directly, join the discord!
